Upcoming Parent Discussion & Support Groups Ali Farquhar’s passion is working with the parents of 'quirky' kids. Certified to teach the CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) Parent-to-Parent program, and as a trainer for the Active ParentingTM series of workshops, she has also been trained in Ross Greene's and Stuart Ablon's Collaborative Problem SolvingSM approach, and has attended more than fifty workshops on learning disabilities, Learning and the Brain, Tourette's Syndrome, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, risky and other challenging behaviors, executive functioning and both general and special education. She is personally experienced, lively, extremely knowledgeable and remarkably empathetic. The feedback from participants in her groups has been uniformly positive. Ali facilitates small (5-10 people), peer-to-peer discussion and support groups for parents of children with special needs. Here is the schedule of upcoming programs. Living (better) with AD/HD Come share your frustrations and your pride with other parents, tell us what works for you and what doesn’t, and feel the support of others who know just what you are dealing with. Information, discussion and support around managing AD/HD in the home. Topics will include the basics of AD/HD, impulse control, self-regulation and behavior management, homework and other school issues and supporting children socially.
